Online Sulphide Analyser
Measure sulphide in wastewater, refinery and sour-water processes for treatment, corrosion and odour control.

Online Sulphide Analyser with AccuSeries
AccuSeries can be configured for sulphide measurement in suitable wastewater, refinery and sour-water applications. The method and sample handling are selected around sulphide form, concentration, volatility and process conditions. Read PMAโs independent sulphide application guide for wider measurement context.
A documented combined sulphide and mercaptan configuration uses potentiometric titration with silver nitrate after ionic-strength adjustment. PMA reviews volatility, oxidation risk, sample transport, expected range and whether a combined result set is appropriate. Explore the refinery sour-water analysis page and AccuSeries platform.
Programmable online sulphide analysis
The approved combined configuration stabilises the sample with an ionic-strength adjusting buffer and determines sulphide and mercaptan endpoints using dilute silver-nitrate titrant. Sample preservation and transfer are part of the measurement design because sulphide can be lost or changed before analysis.
01 / CONFIGURED METHOD
Silver-nitrate titration for sulphide
The method is configured around the sulphide basis, mercaptan content, sample solvent system and the concentration range expected at the monitoring point.
- Ionic-strength adjustment before titration
- Silver-nitrate titrant with potentiometric endpoint detection
- Combined sulphide and mercaptan configuration where suitable
02 / AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Sampling, calibration and cleaning
The automated sequence limits manual handling between sample capture and titration. Calibration standards, cleaning and sample transport must be designed around the reactive, volatile nature of the duty.
- Automatic sampling
- Automatic calibration
- Automatic cleaning
A controlled sulphide measurement sequence
Each sulphide result follows a configured sampling, reagent, measurement, calculation and maintenance sequence.
01.
Capture the sample
The internal fast loop and sample mechanism provide a representative, consistent sample volume for sulphide analysis.
02.
Add method reagents
The programmed sequence doses the reagents required for the selected sulphide method.
03.
Run the configured method
The approved sulphide method proceeds under controlled conditions.
04.
Calculate the sulphide result
The measured response is converted into the configured sulphide concentration result.
05.
Calibrate
Automatic calibration can run against configured sulphide standards at selected intervals.
06.
Clean
Automatic cleaning supports the sulphide measurement system between planned maintenance visits.
Sulphide-specific configuration checks
A useful sulphide result depends on preserving the sample, defining the reporting basis and matching the titration range to the real sour-water or wastewater duty.
Sample preservation
Minimise delay, aeration and uncontrolled chemistry before analysis.
Reporting basis
Define the sulphide result and any mercaptan separation required.
Titration range
Match titrant strength, captured volume and endpoint to the expected duty.
Materials review
Check wetted materials and sample transport against the process stream.
