Online Manganese Analyser
Track manganese through water treatment and industrial processes using automated colorimetric analysis.

Online Manganese Analyser with AccuSeries
AccuSeries supports configurable online manganese measurement for suitable water-treatment and industrial applications. It can be combined with iron in a multi-parameter configuration where the analytical ranges and sample matrix permit. Review PMA’s AccuSeries overview for wider product and application context.
The approved iron and manganese configuration uses PAN colorimetry for manganese with a pH 9.5 buffer, a 550 nm measurement filter and an 810 nm reference filter. PMA reviews the sample for documented metal interferences before the method is accepted. Explore the AccuSeries platform and online colorimetric analyser guidance.
Programmable online manganese analysis
For the approved multi-parameter setup, manganese is developed with PAN reagent under controlled pH and measured at 550 nm with an 810 nm reference. The method document identifies several metals that must be considered as potential interferences.
01 / CONFIGURED METHOD
PAN colorimetry for manganese
The configured method controls pH, PAN addition and optical measurement while the application review checks the actual matrix against the documented interference limits.
- PAN colour-development chemistry at controlled pH
- 550 nm measurement with 810 nm optical reference
- Matrix check for iron, aluminium, copper, nickel and other metals
02 / AUTOMATIC OPERATION
Sampling, calibration and cleaning
Automatic sequencing controls buffer and PAN addition before calculating the manganese result. Calibration, cleaning and validation frequency are selected for the sample and duty.
- Automatic sampling
- Automatic calibration
- Automatic cleaning
A controlled manganese measurement sequence
Each manganese result follows a configured sampling, reagent, measurement, calculation and maintenance sequence.
01.
Capture the sample
The internal fast loop and sample mechanism provide a representative, consistent sample volume for manganese analysis.
02.
Add method reagents
The programmed sequence doses the reagents required for the selected manganese method.
03.
Run the configured method
The approved manganese method proceeds under controlled conditions.
04.
Calculate the manganese result
The measured response is converted into the configured manganese concentration result.
05.
Calibrate
Automatic calibration can run against configured manganese standards at selected intervals.
06.
Clean
Automatic cleaning supports the manganese measurement system between planned maintenance visits.
Manganese-specific configuration checks
Manganese method selection must account for the target range, sample colour, solids and the concentration of potentially interfering metals.
Interference review
Compare the real matrix with the method’s documented metal limits.
Optical setup
Confirm path length and dual-wavelength measurement for the required range.
Combined analysis
Evaluate iron and manganese on one multi-parameter configuration where suitable.
Reagent handling
Plan buffer, PAN and calibration-standard preparation around the analysis schedule.
